Terms & Conditions.
The rules of the Stateside stash — what I’ll do for you, what I need from you, and what happens when your parcels start making their way across the pond.
Shop responsibly. Label your packages. Keep your receipts.
Stateside Parcel Co. receives and forwards eligible U.S. purchases for members in the UK and Ireland. You are responsible for confirming before you buy that every item is legal to import into your destination country. Stateside does not guarantee that an item is importable, even if we receive, inspect, quote for or ship it. You’re also responsible for accurate order and customs information and all charges associated with your shipment. I’m responsible for handling your packages with reasonable care and providing the agreed service.
About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your membership in and use of the package receiving, storage, consolidation, personal-shopping and forwarding services provided by Stateside Parcel Co. (“Stateside,” “I,” “me,” or “my”).
By purchasing a membership, using the Stateside address, submitting package information or requesting shipment, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old, or otherwise have legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
Nothing in these Terms takes away any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
What Stateside does
Stateside provides eligible members with access to a U.S. receiving address in California. Depending on the service requested, Stateside may:
- Receive eligible packages on your behalf
- Identify packages using your Customer ID
- Provide package arrival updates and photographs
- Store packages while your membership remains active
- Consolidate multiple packages into one shipment
- Prepare packages for international forwarding
- Arrange shipping through third-party carriers
- Shop for eligible Trader Joe’s products on your behalf
- Assist with eligible retailer returns when possible
Stateside is an independent forwarding service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the U.S. retailers whose products members purchase.
Membership, billing & your Customer ID
A valid Stateside membership is required to use the receiving and forwarding service. The price, length, billing frequency and any renewal terms for your membership are displayed at checkout and form part of your agreement with Stateside.
If a membership is not described at checkout as automatically renewing, access ends when the purchased membership period expires.
If a membership is offered on an automatically renewing basis, any renewal price, frequency and cancellation method will be disclosed as part of the purchase process.
During signup you create a unique 7-character Customer ID, using the first three letters of your last name followed by four numbers (for example, DEL4827).
Using the California address
Active members may use the Stateside address shown in Member HQ to receive eligible purchases from U.S. retailers.
The Stateside address may only be used in connection with legitimate purchases and services permitted under these Terms. It may not be used:
- As your residential or legal address
- To establish residency
- To register a business or legal entity
- For banking, lending or credit applications
- For government identification or official documents
- To receive unrelated personal mail
- For fraudulent, misleading or unlawful activity
Access to the address ends when your membership ends unless otherwise agreed in writing.
What I need from you
To keep everything running smoothly, you agree to provide complete and accurate information about yourself, your purchases and your shipments.
You are responsible for:
- Including your correct Customer ID on packages sent to Stateside
- Providing accurate tracking and package information through Member HQ
- Providing a complete and deliverable final shipping address
- Providing an appropriate telephone number for international shipping
- Keeping receipts or order confirmations for purchases
- Accurately describing the contents and value of your goods
- Ensuring the items you purchase may legally be shipped and imported into your destination country
- Paying membership fees, shipping charges, handling charges and other agreed costs when due
Package check-in, receipts & customs information
Members should submit incoming package information through Member HQ → Add a Package when tracking information becomes available.
When requesting international shipment, you must provide the receipts or order confirmations requested by Stateside. Trader Joe’s purchases made directly by Stateside on your behalf are generally excluded from this requirement because Stateside already has the purchase information.
You agree that all information provided for customs and shipping purposes will be truthful and accurate.
Stateside will not intentionally falsify the description, purchase price or value of merchandise, incorrectly describe merchandise as a gift, or otherwise provide false customs information at a customer's request.
Stateside may compare customer-provided information with receipts, order confirmations, visible product information and other available documentation when preparing a shipment. If information is missing, inconsistent or unclear, shipment preparation may be paused while additional information is requested.
Prohibited & restricted items
Before purchasing or sending any item to the Stateside address, you must confirm that it is legal to export from the United States, accepted by the selected carrier and legal to import into your destination country. Restrictions vary by country, carrier, product type, ingredients, quantity and intended use, and they may change without notice.
Stateside Parcel Co. does not guarantee that any particular item is permitted for export, carriage or import. Stateside receiving an item, accepting a package check-in, answering a general question, inspecting an item, including it in a quote or accepting payment does not constitute legal or customs advice and does not confirm that the item is eligible for international shipment or admission into the destination country.
Prohibited or restricted items may include, without limitation:
- Hazardous materials
- Flammable products
- Certain batteries
- Aerosols
- Alcohol
- Body mists and perfumes containing alcohol
- Tobacco and nicotine products
- Controlled or illegal substances
- Weapons or other regulated items
- Perishable food
- Medicines, supplements or health products restricted by applicable law or carrier rules
- Furniture, appliances and other oversized goods unless approved in advance
- Any other unlawful or prohibited goods
If you're unsure whether an item can be forwarded, contact me before purchasing it.
During receiving, consolidation and shipment preparation, Stateside may review visible product information and available documentation for signs that an item may be prohibited, restricted, unsafe, incorrectly described or otherwise ineligible for forwarding.
If an item's eligibility is unclear, Stateside may place the item or package on hold and request additional information such as a receipt, order confirmation, product description, ingredient list, specifications or other documentation reasonably needed to review it. Stateside may also review relevant carrier acceptance rules, customs guidance or destination-country restrictions before making a forwarding decision.
If a prohibited, unsafe, unlawful or otherwise ineligible item arrives, Stateside may refuse to forward it. Depending on the circumstances, the item may be returned to the retailer or sender, held for customer instructions, surrendered, disposed of or otherwise handled in a lawful manner. Reasonable return, storage, disposal or handling costs may be the customer's responsibility where permitted by these Terms and applicable law.
How products are monitored before forwarding
Because Stateside handles merchandise purchased from third-party U.S. retailers, products are reviewed at multiple points in the receiving, consolidation and forwarding process to reduce the risk that prohibited, restricted, unsafe or improperly documented goods are shipped internationally.
Stateside's review process may include:
- Incoming package identification: associating packages with the correct customer using available Customer ID, tracking, retailer and shipment information
- Purchase-document review: reviewing receipts, order confirmations, product descriptions, quantities and purchase values when needed for shipment preparation or customs documentation
- Physical handling and consolidation: reviewing visible product information and available documentation during normal package handling for indicators that an item may be restricted or ineligible
- Pre-shipment review: reviewing available product information before an outbound shipment is finalized for compatibility with Stateside policy, carrier requirements and destination-country restrictions
Products that commonly receive additional scrutiny include hazardous or flammable goods, aerosols, certain batteries, alcohol, tobacco or nicotine products, controlled or illegal substances, weapons or regulated items, perishable foods, medicines, supplements or health-related products, oversized goods, and any other products that may be restricted by law, carrier rules or destination-country requirements.
If an issue can be resolved through corrected or additional information, the customer may be asked to provide it before shipment proceeds. If the item is determined to be ineligible, it will be removed from the outbound shipment and handled in accordance with the prohibited and restricted-item provisions of these Terms.
Stateside maintains records reasonably necessary to support package identification, product review, shipment preparation, customs declarations and the resolution of restricted-item issues. These records may include tracking information, receipts or order confirmations, shipping requests, product descriptions, customer communications and final shipment or customs documentation.
Crest whitening products
Crest whitening products may be subject to import restrictions in some destinations and are not guaranteed to clear customs. By choosing to ship these items, you acknowledge that shipment is at your own risk.
Stateside Parcel Co. is not responsible for items delayed, refused, seized, destroyed or returned by customs or any other regulatory authority. Shipping charges are non-refundable in these circumstances.
How long your packages can stay Stateside
An active membership includes package storage for as long as the membership remains active.
This included storage gives you time to receive purchases from multiple U.S. retailers before requesting consolidation.
If your membership is cancelled or expires while packages are still stored, you must arrange forwarding or return of those packages before the membership ends, or contact me in advance. Storage after the membership ends is not included unless we agree otherwise in writing; any additional charge will be communicated before it is applied.
Stateside may pause acceptance of additional packages where existing packages remain unresolved for an unreasonable period, payment is overdue or continued storage creates a safety or capacity issue.
Consolidation, invoices & payment
When you're finished shopping, submit a Shipping Request through Member HQ.
After reviewing your packages and information, Stateside will prepare the shipment and provide a final invoice. Before the shipment is finalized, Stateside may pause preparation if a product appears restricted, documentation is incomplete or inconsistent, or the item cannot reasonably be confirmed as eligible for forwarding.
The invoice may include:
- International shipping charges
- Package handling charges
- Applicable personal-shopping charges
- Outstanding product costs for purchases made on your behalf
- Other charges agreed to or disclosed in connection with the requested service
Your package will not be released for international shipment until the required invoice has been paid.
After payment is received, Stateside aims to hand the parcel to the selected carrier within 1–3 business days, unless circumstances outside Stateside's reasonable control cause a delay.
Shipping & import responsibility
International shipments are transported by independent third-party shipping carriers.
This responsibility includes, without limitation, checking rules that may apply to food and beverages, cosmetics, skincare, toiletries, liquids, powders, supplements, vitamins, medicines, medical or health-related products, aerosols, fragrances, alcohol, tobacco or nicotine products, batteries, electronics, plants, seeds, animal products, hazardous materials and other regulated goods.
Stateside Parcel Co. does not guarantee that any item is legal or permitted to import. Product availability in the United States, a retailer’s willingness to sell an item, delivery to the Stateside address, Stateside’s receipt or inspection of the item, preparation of a shipping quote, acceptance of payment, or transfer of the parcel to a carrier does not mean that the item is lawful or admissible in the destination country.
Stateside may refuse, pause or cancel shipment of any item that it believes may be prohibited, restricted, unsafe, improperly documented, incompatible with carrier rules or otherwise unsuitable for international shipment. Stateside may take a conservative approach and decline shipment whenever eligibility cannot be reasonably confirmed.
Delivery estimates are estimates rather than guaranteed arrival dates unless a specific guaranteed service is expressly offered. Customs review, weather, carrier disruptions and other events can affect delivery time.
Customs duties, VAT, import taxes, brokerage charges and other government or destination-country fees may apply to your shipment. Unless expressly stated otherwise, these charges are the customer's responsibility.
The customer is responsible for any customs inspection, delay, detention, refusal, return, abandonment, seizure, forfeiture or lawful destruction arising from an item being prohibited, restricted, incorrectly documented or otherwise inadmissible. The customer is also responsible for resulting duties, taxes, penalties, carrier charges, return-shipping costs, storage charges, disposal costs and other fees, except to the extent that applicable law requires otherwise.
Shipping, handling, membership and product charges are not refundable merely because customs or a carrier delays, refuses, returns, seizes or disposes of an item, except where a refund is required by applicable law or the issue was caused by Stateside’s failure to provide the agreed service with reasonable care.
You are responsible for providing a correct destination address. Additional carrier charges caused by an inaccurate or incomplete address may be passed on to you where appropriate.
Retailer returns
If you decide you no longer want an item, Stateside may be able to assist with returning it to the original retailer before the item has been consolidated or shipped internationally.
The current Stateside return-handling fee is $5 USD per returned item, in addition to any retailer or carrier return-shipping charge.
Returns remain subject to the original retailer's rules, deadlines and acceptance. Stateside cannot guarantee that a retailer will accept a return.
Once an item has been consolidated into an international shipment and handed to the carrier, Stateside generally cannot process a retailer return unless a separate arrangement is possible and agreed.
This section does not limit any mandatory legal rights you may have against Stateside itself in relation to the service Stateside provides.
Trader Joe’s personal shopping
Stateside may offer personal-shopping runs for eligible Trader Joe's products.
Product availability, quantities and pricing are controlled by the store and may change without notice. A requested product is not guaranteed to be in stock.
You are responsible for the cost of products purchased on your behalf plus any applicable personal-shopping or handling fee disclosed by Stateside.
Prohibited and restricted-item rules apply equally to products purchased through a Trader Joe's request.
Package care, loss & responsibility
Stateside will use reasonable care when receiving, storing, consolidating and preparing your packages.
Stateside is responsible for its own failure to provide the agreed service with the level of care required by applicable law.
Stateside is not responsible for losses caused solely by matters outside its reasonable control, such as:
- A retailer sending the wrong or defective item
- A retailer failing to deliver an order
- Carrier delay, loss or damage occurring after a properly prepared shipment has been handed to the carrier
- Customs delay, detention, inspection, refusal, return, seizure, forfeiture or lawful destruction
- Incorrect information supplied by the customer
- A customer's failure to disclose that an item is prohibited or restricted
Where carrier insurance or declared-value protection is available, coverage and claims are subject to the carrier's applicable terms. Contact me before shipment if you want to discuss available insurance options.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, or removes a customer's mandatory statutory rights.
Membership cancellation & refunds
You may contact Stateside to request cancellation of your membership.
Cancellation does not remove any charges already properly incurred for packages, purchases, returns, shipping or other services provided at your request.
Where consumer law gives you a cooling-off, withdrawal, cancellation or refund right, those legal rights apply regardless of anything else in these Terms.
If you specifically request that Stateside begin providing membership services immediately after purchase and you later exercise an applicable cancellation right, any refund or amount due will be handled in accordance with the law that applies to your purchase.
Outside any mandatory legal cancellation or refund right, refund requests will be considered based on the services already provided and any legitimate costs already incurred.
Refusing or suspending service
Stateside actively enforces these Terms throughout package receiving, consolidation and shipment preparation. When a potential violation or eligibility issue is identified, Stateside may place the affected item, package or shipment on hold while the issue is reviewed, request reasonable supporting information, require a correctable issue to be resolved, refuse to forward an ineligible item, or take appropriate account action.
Stateside may reasonably refuse, pause or terminate service where necessary because of:
- Nonpayment of amounts properly due
- Suspected fraud or unlawful activity
- Prohibited or dangerous goods
- False, misleading or intentionally inaccurate shipment or customs information
- Failure or repeated refusal to provide documentation reasonably needed to review an item
- Repeated or serious violations of these Terms
- Harassment, threats or abusive conduct
- Circumstances that make continued service unsafe or unlawful
Where practical and appropriate, Stateside will explain the reason for the action and provide a reasonable opportunity to resolve outstanding packages, documentation issues or balances.
Serious or repeated violations may result in refusal of additional packages, restrictions on the account, suspension or termination of service. A request to undervalue merchandise, misdescribe goods or otherwise provide false shipment information may be refused and may result in account action.
If Stateside ends a prepaid membership for reasons that are not the customer's fault, any refund due for the unused portion of the service will be handled fairly and in accordance with applicable law.
Privacy
Stateside collects information needed to operate the service, which may include your name, contact information, Customer ID, purchase information, receipts, package information, product descriptions, shipping requests, customer communications, customs or shipment documentation and destination address.
How personal information is collected, used, stored and shared should be read together with the Stateside Parcel Co. Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
Stateside may update these Terms, restricted-item guidance or related handling and monitoring procedures as the service evolves or when changes are needed for legal, operational or safety reasons, including changes to carrier requirements, customs rules or destination-country requirements.
Material changes will be communicated where required. Changes will not be used retroactively to remove rights you already have under applicable law or an existing completed transaction.
The effective date shown at the top of this page indicates when the current version became effective.
Governing law & consumer rights
Stateside Parcel Co. is operated from California, United States. To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
If you are purchasing as a consumer in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply to you and cannot legally be waived.
If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Ask before you order. It’s much easier than figuring it out after a mystery parcel appears on my doorstep.
